3 Banned products in fragrances.
Hi, We know that 3 new banned product’s Lyral, Atranol & Chloroatranol will be prohibited (Common names: LYRAL, ATANOL & CHLOROTRANOL) from the 23rd August 2019.
This is only for products that are going in cosmetics & is not banned for the use of candles, wax melts, reed diffusers or room sprays etc..
Please do not beleive the hype on the internet as some people have the illusion that Lyral has a total ban on all uses in the fragrance world.
Wrong, only if it is in skin care product’s.
So what is Trade Essential Oils doing to keep all our customers legal.
We are having all the products we make re-assessed so the formulations smell the same and do the job that the old ones did.

So after the 23rd August 2019 what you need to be looking for is these 3 CAS No: shown below and on the link above.
Lyral CAS No: 31906-04-4
Atranol. CAS No: 526-37-4
Chlorotranol CAS No: 57074-21-2
If these are produced and in the product they cannot after 23rd August 2019 be used in the manufacturing of any cosmetics.
Also all the product we sell for cosmetics will not contain the product Lilial Cas No 80-54-6 which is being banned in late 2020 so be assured that we are on the ball regarding new EU legislation.
Those produced before that date with these products that are banned after the 23rd August 2019 can be sold on the open market until 23rd August 2021
So hoping all goes ok all our product listed will be available as these are made up and in stock so very shortly the products we state are ok at this present time will be taken off our listings with the new legal product relisted ASAP.

Timeline for Compliance:
- From August 23, 2019, only cosmetic products which comply with the Regulation shall be placed on the Union market.
- From August 23, 2021, only cosmetic products which comply with the Regulation shall be made available on the Union market.
